Aleph Null 3.0

Aleph Null 3.0 is an online, interactive, generative art engine and a tool for creating images and animations that have a unique look. Jim Andrews has been developing this JavaScript/HTML/CSS piece since 2011. It makes heavy use of the HTML5 canvas tag, touted as a replacement for Flash, the formerly popular web animation program. Aleph Null is hand-coded by Andrews. In version 3.0, Andrews invited 20+ visual poets from around the world to participate. Each of them has a 'nib icon' in the control panel which, when clicked, creates a 'brush' that samples from visual poems by the featured arist. Aleph Null remixes their images into something different. In version 3.0, the viewer can import their own images into the Aleph Null brushes, as well. So Aleph Null is both a tool and a work of art.
