David A. Cole
was a teacher of literature and art in colleges since 1963, as well as being an artist concerned primarily with the visual exploration and extension of language. He mostly worked in an intimate scale, whilst also making 30 feet x 7 feet paintings. He was also a self-publisher of artists’ books, a curator, an installation artist, and a collaborator in art and artists’ books, as well as a mail artist. His work resides in the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, and the Getty Museum, and in private and commercial collections. Dr. Cole died April 19, 2000.
